Technology Solutions: Tourism 2012

One of the key ways to promote Scotland’s many tourist attractions and improve customer experience whilst they are here is through digital technology which is often overlooked.

The Scottish Government recently reported that Scotland saw an estimated a 6% increase in domestic visitors in the first 6 months of 2011, compared to the same period in 2010, and a 13% increase in expenditure*.  VisitScotland also reported its “Surprise Yourself” campaign generated an additional £89.9million to Scotland’s economy since its launch in March.

Oganised by Interactive Scotland, Scottish Enterprise and ETAG, this event will follow on from the hugely successful Technology Solutions in Tourism event 2011  focused on technology and digital media solutions radically changing the tourism industry.

Speakers include as Robbie Parish from Visit Scotland  discussing the benefits for tourism businesses of the new Visit website, Stephanie Rieger from Yiibu who will look at the importance of mobile webs for the tourism sector, the event will be of interest to Edinburgh tourism businesses and digital media companies developing solutions for the tourism sector.
