
The new partnership with Future Electronic is part of a drive by Wolfson to
widen its customer base and address proliferation of audio and mixed-signal applications in consumer and industrial products.
The Edinburgh based company selected its Canadian based distributor partner because of its expertise in technical sales, in particular teams of field applications engineers in local branches across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Americas and Asia.
Additional strengths are Futures Electronics' System Design Centres which providing design services and Future-Blox development boards to customers, and in Asia providing turn-key design services and proof of concept designs
In addition, Future Electronics has proven capability in tracking new designs across borders. Many devices that use Wolfson devices are designed in EMEA or North America for subsequent manufactured in Asia.

WM8912, ultra low power DAC significantly extending playback time, reducing system cost and enhancing audio performance in portable applications, including media players, headsets, multimedia phones and navigation devices.
The WM8912 features Wolfson’s SmartDAC technology, a low power DAC capacitor switching architecture, which enables DAC to headphone power consumption of less than 4mW. Also incorporated into the WM8912 is Wolfson’s Class W amplifier technology, an evolution of class G, which includes an adaptive dual drive charge pump and DC servo circuit architecture.
