Olympus LS7 Linear PCM Audio Recorder

Wolfson Microelectronics ultra-low power stereo Audio Hub, the WM8962, has been selected by one of the world’s leading manufacturers of voice recorders, Olympus Imaging Corp, for its LS-7 Linear Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) Audio Recorder. Meantime MEMS expert market research group Yole Developpement offers the Wolfson WM720 as one of six, off-the-shelf silicon microphones for which it can offer teardown and reverse costing analysis.

The Recorder combines high performance audio and 96kHz linear PCM recording capability in a portable pocket-sized device. Wolfson’s WM8962 delivers the highest clarity audio to portable digital applications without sacrificing battery life.

Highly flexible analogue mixing options, multiple onboard clock generators, high performance ADCs and DACs, and support for multiple analogue and digital microphones enable the WM8962 to support a vast range of use cases in multiple consumer electronics applications.
