Executive director of ScotlandIS, (right) Polly Purvis, said: “We had very limited
representation of the SME membership on the board in the past and we needed to re-dress the balance. Now, as well as having representation from our large member companies, the new board will have greater representation from SME member companies, academic organisations and specialist services to the ICT sector on the board. This is great news for our members as the board now fully embodies our diverse membership.”

As well as the three academic organisation member and three from the specialist services to the ICT sector, the new Board now includes eight large company members (above) and eight SME members (below).

Apart from the ScotlandIS chairman Eddie Chance, executive Director Polly Purvis, and finance director Gillian Davidson, all current board members are stepping down at the next board meeting. The new board will also appoint a smaller operational group from amongst its members to ensure good governance and provide support for the permanent staff team.
Commenting on the recent changes and appointees to ScotlandIS chairman, Eddie Chance (left) said: “I am delighted about this news on two fronts. Firstly, we have managed to attract so many high calibre individuals from across the ICT industry in Scotland who are passionate about the sector and the contribution it continues to make to our economy in these challenging times.
“Secondly and more importantly, I now believe that the board of ScotlandIS truly reflects the variety of our membership. It is a membership that has been growing over the last few years, reflecting the increasing value of the Scottish industry. Polly and the team have been doing a fantastic job recently and with the support of these new board members ScotlandIS will continue to go from strength to strength.”
