Nanotechnology offers ways to create smaller, cheaper, lighter and faster materials, devices and systems as well as new routes to established problems that can do more ingenious things, use less raw materials and consume less energy.
The University of Glasgow has proven itself as among UK (and Europe’s) leading institutions for academic “nano” research encompassing electronics, chemistry, medicine, physics, biological sciences and in most cases the interdisciplinary interfaces between them.
It has built up a massive resource in nano that is now able to assist enterprises in realizing new products, processes and innovative business opportunities through their use and integration of “nano”.
The University is now developing the concept of “NanoYard” specifically to
work with industry and its requirements for interdisciplinary “nano” knowledge, skills and facilities. Its workshop is intended to be an interactive opportunity to share opportunities and requirements, where all attendees are participants.
A unique opportunity to discuss and debate “nano” and to identify the impact it could have on your business. You will start to forge new partnerships with the university and with other participants that can positively impact your future business. Come prepared to discuss (non-confidentially) your thoughts and interest in “nano”.
You will have the opportunity to present 2 slides on your business and nano opportunity or requirements. It will help the University of Glasgow to not only develop the optimum NanoYard concept but also to significantly raise understanding of the new reality that is the “nano” commercial opportunity.
Places are limited and priority will be given to those willing to present.
