Aberdeen-based Aventa, which specialises in integrated production data systems, has won two contracts worth £300,000 and comprising an extension with Talisman Energy (UK) Limited, and a new contract with Hess.

We’re delighted to be working with Talisman and Hess. In the past six months we’ve moved to larger premises, recruited more staff and seen an increase in the level of potential leads," says (right) Aventa MD, Bill Whibley.

Back in March, Kenny Duncan (left) was appointed a non-executive director at Aventa Systems. A former software developer with SD-SCICON, he moved into project management when the company was bought over by Electronic Designs Systems Ltd, developing major software systems for maintenance and materials management, hydrocarbon accounting and offshore logistics.

“The business is progressing and the market understands what we can offer from devising customised systems to working with clients on collaborative projects,” comments Whibley.

The Talisman project will see Aventa assist with the development of a web technology based performance management system. For Hess, Aventa will help support the production data management systems for the Triton FPSO in the North Sea and the South Arne fixed installation off Denmark.

Aventa uses OSIsoft’s PI System and has energy industry experience to manage and support the world’s leading real-time data engine. With its own product Aventa COSMOS, the company ensures the high-end delivery of data solutions.

Aventa plans to increase staffing levels from 6 to 15 during the year in response to the growing demand for its solutions. It recently moved to the centre of Aberdeen into premises three times the size of its previous office in Bridge of Don.
