Mark Simpson of Saul Ewing, a well respected veteran IP attorney from the United States with s a wealth of knowledge around patent protection in the States agreed to share his knowledge and insight with Scottish companies thinking about applying for a patent for the US market

Simpson has advised clients in protecting and managing their IP assets via patent preparation and prosecution and IP due diligence. Technologically, Mark’s focus is in electronics, computer software and hardware and business methods with an emphasis on computer systems, communications, telephony systems and internet technologies.

The process involved in Software and Electronics patenting is very different in the States and this workshop will provide you with an overview of the main process involved in making a software/electronics patent application through to being granted a patent in the US.

Also under discussion will be the protection of software via copyright. So if you are considering applying for a US patent or selling a patented product in the States, this workshop will give you all the vital information you need to know!
