Next Generation Broadband, high speed broadband, super fast broadband, INCA intended for key influencers and senior staff in government, local councils, Regional Development Agency officials, Planners, Business, Community and other Stakeholders.

Next Generation Broadband has huge potential and vital for Scotland’s future. It will bring much faster speeds to homes, businesses, and expand scope and choice of services available, particularly in health provision, education, entertainment and business services. It will unlock innovation and it is essentail that Scotland has the infrastructure to exploit these new opportunities.

Currently many in Scotland cannot get the minimum 2MBPS broadband, a problem which affects about 11% of the UK population. Edinburgh's Roadshow event will look at technical issues, it will also present case studies and show how communities themselves can get involved in developing Next Generation Broadband networks by using public and/or private partnerships to boost innovation and economic competiveness.

Speakers at the event include Professor Michael Fourman - author of the Royal Society of Edinburgh’s Digital Scotland interim consultation report (the final report scheduled for launched later this year) Malcolm Corbett - CEO INCA - as well as experts from continental Europe. Edgar Aker, director of Marketing & Product Management, EMEA, Draka and Klaus Kammermeier exec. director marketing carrier, EMEA, Corning. A BT’s Brendan Dick will give a keynote address.
