Dermalog Face Matching

As Amsterdam-based Sightcorp uses a simple webcam, its Face Analysis Technology is able to track and measure consumers’ unbiased behaviour responses and interest in different real-life scenarios, in a totally automated and non-intrusive way. Now German Heidelberg-based Dermalog's "Face Matching" claims to be the fastest software for biometric Face Matching on the market. Speed is at 100 million matches per second on a single blade and is accompanied by a low failure rate that the confirmed working speed is ahead of the competition.

As Sightcorp using a simple webcam, its Face Analysis Technology is able to track and measure consumers’ unbiased behaviour responses and interest in different real-life scenarios, in a totally automated and non-intrusive way. Now Dermalog's "Face Matching" claims to be the fastest software for biometric Face Matching on the market. Speed is at 100 million matches per second on a single blade and is accompanied by a low failure rate that the confirmed working speed is ahead of the competition.

Already boasting it holds the world record in "Fingerprint Matching"  the Hamburg-based market leader has more to offer than development of the fastest software for Fingerprint Matching.  Now DERMALOG offers hard- and software solutions for multi-biometric applications. In addition to fingerprints, developer focus is on  the recognisable characteristics of the human iris, as well as the face.

DERMALOG founder and MD (right)  Günther Mull explains his biometric innovation: "The 'Face Matching' enables to match face pictures against each other or against large databases. With our software, it is possible to match a group with the size of the Chinese population, around 1.4 billion people, within 14 seconds to find the most likely match."

Face Matching systems can be used for many applications.  Mull adds "To improve security at Border Control, all types of monitoring systems, criminal investigation, unlocking smartphones and generally for portable use all over the world."

He is convinced of the practicality of his "Face Matching": "Our product can be integrated into existing solutions, is contactless, easy to use and is compatible with many image formats. This shows a part of DERMALOG's spectrum as multi-biometrics-supplier and system integrator." An additional module serves to defend against manipulations and attempts of forgery by the use of photographs, masks or videos.   Below: Biometric identification Courtesy Dreamstime.com
