East coast Scotland, on a line of Bathgate, Dalkeith and Musselburgh are named by BT as its latest in the £2.5bn next generation broadband rollout.

It comes hard on the heels of the Berwickshire and Borders wins. In the latest exercise, Wales gets one site with Pontycymmer  and 37 English market towns also win out.

These join the 785 exchanges across the country that will get superfast broadband. For Scotland that's Glasgow Halfway, Bridgeton and Giffnock, Edinburgh Corstorphine and Craiglockhart exchanges. On the map are Bothwell, Dalgety Bay, Dunfermline, Glasgow's Newton Mearns, Edinburgh's Livingston Station, and Penicuik.

Feels like time to get moving with Digital Scotland  or swathes of our broadband map will be broadly in slow stripe mourning.
