Aberdeen based IT specialist, Indigo Technologies (not to be confused with Indigo Vision) has two award nominations in the prestigious 2010 Northern Star Awards becoming one of three finalists in the Excellence in Customer Service and the Commitment to People Development categories. Award winners will be announced in September.

“These awards are judged by an independent panel of highly respected business leaders,” says Sean Thomson, (right) director at Indigo. “To be shortlisted for these two highly competitive categories is a significant achievement for the whole team and  demonstrates a consistently high standard of work across the company.”

The Excellence in Customer Service Award recognises companies who can consistently deliver outstanding customer service, while the Commitment to People Development is awarded to companies that invest in developing its staff through skills and personal development, achievement programmes and outcomes.

Thomson adds, “Indigo has built a strong reputation on the basis of its customer service which has been core to the success of the company. The investment in our staff is a key contributor to this.

“We actively seek out training opportunities in areas in which our staff can become specialists to give us a competitive edge. We also react quickly to new technology and changes in the industry, training our staff in the latest products as they hit the market. Being finalists in the Northern Star Awards will help to further strengthen the reputation of Indigo as a leading IT specialist not only across the north east but in Scotland too.”

Indigo recently reported a 20% growth in turnover, achieving £550,000 for year end March 2010. The company has enjoyed year on year growth since it founded five years ago, the most recent increase doubling its client base to 100 last year. Rapid rise in business levels has ed to a growth in employee numbers, bringing full-time staff to six and the creation this year of two new engineer posts.

Back in 2008 Indigo Tech was shortlisted  for Northern Star awards in the Commitment to Research and Development category.
