With the Christmas and New Year break coming up, time for Scotland to read the 'Draft Scottish Ferry Services" review, that the Scottish Government has published and that goes to consultation for a 14 week period until 30th March 2012.

As many people as possible should make their views known to the government because the document will become the plan for the Scottish ferry services to be published in 2012.  It will also provide the strategic guidance for ferry services provision throughout Scotland for the decade through to 2022.

As ForArgyll urges, "any plan needs as many perspectives as possible if it is to be both robust and supple" and the site carries the immediate political response of Minister for Housing and Transport, MSP Keith Brown, Argyll & Bute MSP Michael Russell, Highland & Islands MSP Jamie McGrigor, Mike MacKenzie, Mary Scanlon, and Dave Thompson MSP Skye, Lochaber & Badenoch.

The consultation questionnaire  should be read in conjunction with the Scottish Ferries Review Consultation Document,  and its appendices and  questionnaire can be downloaded from the ScottishGovernment website.

Consultation responses may be emailed to: scottishferriesreview@scotland.gsi.gov.uk  or posted and even carried by ferry to:
