France dominates Game Connection

Game Connection Europe has named the 15 unsigned game projects that have made it on to the Selected Projects 2012 shortlist of which one, Orc Attack from Casual Brothers is from the UK and official support for the awards from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe who will be presenting a special award

Other countries with games shortlisted include two from Slovek,and one each Sweden, Netherlands, US, China, and Germany  But dominating the nationalities listing with more than a third of the entries is France with six selected titles, DRAKERZ, ePawn Arena, Exodus from Glahmac, Pilleurs de Brume, Stellar Impact and WALTER
 
The awards will take place at Game Connection Europe this December from 6-8th in Paris, France. The winner of the ultimate ‘Best Project 2012’ award as selected by the Game Connection jury will receive valuable hardware and development support from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, including PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita development kits. 

Two runners up will be invited by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to their London offices for a training day (technical support, QA and PlayStation Network business).

The winner of the special Sony Computer Entertainment Europe award will also receive hardware and development support, plus free pre-certification support. 

“It’s vital to our industry that the major video game companies continue to support development at agrassroots level, so we’re very pleased and excited that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has chosen to give its valuable support to the Selected Projects 2012 initiative,” said Pierre Carde, (right) creator of Game Connection. “We’re looking forward to the presentations and to once again seeing the enormous boost the Selected Projects initiative can give to unsigned projects.”
 
The 15 shortlisted titles have already gone through a rigorous initial selection process, with the final winners, including the grand prize of ‘Best Project 2012’, to be decided at Game Connection Europe on 6th December in Paris.
