Fantastic architecture shortlist

Last year, the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland had a 2010 RIBA shortlete of 16 project buildings. This year the May outcome judges have a total of 17 buildings to consider.

RIAS president David Dunbar comments that the submission "resulted in a fantastic shortlist. The 17 various project include housing, major conservation work, medical and education building and even performing art provision."

Edinburgh fields Scotstoun House, Queensferry, Napier University, Royal Botanic Garden, Centre for the Scottish Warblind and a Rosslyn super insulated house.

Dundee has McManus Galleries and in Cupar, Fife, the Stratheden Mental Health Unit,

From Glasgow comes Pearce Street, Govan, Scottish Ballet@Tramway, Shettleston Housing Association Offices and West Centre, Renfrew with Speirs Lock Studios.

Isle of Coll has Coll house, Isle of Raasay has its Community Hall, and Dunoon offers Tigh-Na-Cladach (House by the Shore) at Innellan.

Todlaw Low Carbon Affordable Housing, is at Duns, Berwickshire, The Houl, Castle Douglas at Dumfries and Galloway
