EXPO 2010 Shanghai has as its star a 130 x 6.3 metres animated tapestry developed by Hong Kong based Crystal CG. The digital viewing which can be seen at Gizmag or at Crystal CG is well worth visiting. On the digital sound arena, the WIMP application (Where Is My Phone) has been revamped and can be heard on You Tube.

Gaberlunzie is enchanted by the Gizmag Expo 2010  in Shanghai, a roughly $60bn spend (more than the GDP of two thirds of the world’s nations) and themed on "Better City - Better Life."

Star of the show however is the 130-meter-long, 6.3-meter-high animated interactive digital mural tapestry created by Crystal Creative Group famous the Chinese painting Qingming Shanghe Tu (Along the River During the Qingming Festival).

The digital version alternates from 2 minutes day view to 2 minutes night view. In the daylight scene, 691 characters go about their business with detailed their facial expressions seen changing as a team of camels walks slowly by and at night, lanterns (10 different kinds) and candles come alight for some 377 characters!

Totally fascinated Gaberlunzie went to visit Crystal CG to discover  scroll paintings, mascots of London in the 2010 Olympics and in some wandering visitation to Touch Beijing, he had the luck to stumble on the most amazing 3D jade artifacts (right). This is a really browsing visual place to be.

In quite different sort of exploration, this time with sound, Gaberlunzie hears that Little Worlds Studio’s iPhone App Where Is My Phone? (WIMP) which launched in February made Top 5 Paid App positions in several countries including France, Germany, Italy and Spain – is now climbing back into the top charts once again.

Check out the sounds on YouTube.

3GS iPhones with iOS4 & iPhone4: multi-task.  For iPhone 3G, new navigation system. Activates the app with a single click.
Louder sound volume for ringtones you record. Frequency increased to detect whistles.
Users can record 3 different ringtones using their own voice.
Corrected mike detection error iPhone 2G. Optimised for longer battery life.

Word to wise WIMP owners, if you like jazz and concerts, do turn off your WIMP feature to save your embarrassment when the performers summon your phone into ringing. Gaberluzine owned a similar electronic gadget for keys, and it failed to muffle even with two coats of wrapping.
