Watching television in the Borders is now only possible via a digital signal and dedicated TV monitor, following the switching off of this month of the last remaining analogue signals. The switch off process has completed with some 50,000 households being affected.

The move, which began with a trial in the town of Whitehaven, in Cumbria, last year will continue across the whole of the UK over the next couple of years.

South west Scotland, will be the next switch over via the Caldbeck mast in June next year (Right. Cladbeck under construction. Courtesy: http://www.arqiva.com).
