With increasing support for shared or outsourced services as a low maintenance way of delivery 'Cloud Computing' has fast become the buzz word across Scotland's private and public sectors. Increasingly seen as a potentially powerful way of cutting IT costs in times of fiscal stringency, working with the cloud also recieved a nod in the recent review of public sector ICT led by John McClelland OBE. The event hosted by Holyrood magazine, is designed to present Cloud developments in the last 12 months.

This opening session will offer a brief introduction / recap to the fundamental principles and basic components of Cloud Computing, before hearing about some of the developments in the field. Session two will allow delegates the chance to identify and discuss in smaller groups some specific issues around Cloud practice. Designed to cover some of the major issues Cloud presents - such as data security and accountability, and green credentials - it will also offer a chance to identify which cloud method would suit you best.
