Google has celebrated Charles Dickens 200th birthday and if you went and clicked on the delightful Dickensian doodle, it yielded up a host of Dickens books.

Gaberlunzie took a snatch picture so you could see some of the free Google books that are around, but but he can also recommend an amazing book on a historical murder which is considerably centred about Charles Dickens.  He's got the last two pages to read!

The author is Rebecca Gowers. Her book is "The Twisted Heart."  In her postscript she mentions Desmond Bagley, Nevil Shute and Josephine Tey and somehow manages to live up to them all.
