08/11/2011

Horizon Scotland, Enterprise Park, Forres

Sponsored by the ICT Knowledge Transfer Network, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Scottish Enterprise, key ICT businesses and experts will gather for a free series of presentations and networking opportunities

Forres will attract computer professionals to an event aimed at technology companies from throughout Moray and the Highlands and looking at the opportunities enabled by the introduction of super-fast broadband and advances in computing.

Knowledge Transfer Networks connect people, businesses, academic institutions and public agencies across the UK. This helps them to share expertise, funding opportunities and collaborate on ideas. The networks are free to join and are funded by the Technology Strategy Board.

There are currently 15 networks across the UK, spanning a range of subjects including Financial Services, Healthcare and Medicines, Creative Industries and Energy Generation and Supply.

Theresa Swayne of Highlands and Islands Enterprise said: "Some of the biggest challenges facing any company in the ICT and technology industry is the lack of access to funding, new knowledge and networking opportunities.

"This event will assist local businesses and experts to access the latest support and information, helping them to make the most of the opportunities which are arising, not least with the roll out of super-fast broadband.

Highlands and Islands Enterprise, registrations can be made by email or  calling 01463 244 583.
