When Gaberlunzie was fairly young, one of the more intriguing books he was shown was the one where numbers in colours helped doctors discover if you were colour blind (or colour vision deficient (CVD) to give it its preferred nomenclature)

Browsing through the Chrome app shop while pondering whether the route to having apps is one by one, or portfolioed within a browser when he triped over Daltonization  and there was that technique of exposing details to colour-blind users, but it now apparently allows them see what they otherwise would have missed. CVD reputedly affects 5% of the population (8% men and 0.5% women) or 1:20 computer user!!

To learn more  about colour blindness & algorithms to improve the accessibility of coluors on digital displays see:

Options for Chrome Daltonize!:
"Simulate" shows how images appear through the eyes of the colour blind.
"Daltonize" exposes details in images to colour blind computer users, allowing them to catch details they may have otherwise missed. For instance, daltonization of an Ishihara test plate (a popular test of colour-vision) allows a colour-blind person to see numbers normally inaccessible to their perception.

Color vision deficiency:
This software provides enhancement for people with Protanopia (red-green), Deuteranopia (red-green), or Tritanopia (blue-yellow).
