Audobon Googled, Bewick recalled

Gaberlunzie prowling through the news, notes that Google is celebrating the birth of John James Audobon, (1785-1851) naturalist and artist who catalogued American birds and influenced Charles Darwin.

Audobo
n is somehow intrinsically embedded in Gaberlunzie's mind with with that other famous bird and animal wood cut illustrator Thomas Bewick 1753-1828.

His engravings are not only masterpieces, but contain some very dry detailed Bewickian humour in small country scenes, as in the horse whose owner resenting the grazing fee, netted under its tail, so no manure would be lost!

Alas, the picture cannot to be found on the internet!
