Nick Cohen established PCR Computer Services, a Glasgow-based IT services organisation, in 2004, when he was 13 years old. He now uses an address look-up service supplied by Worcester-based software company Postcode Anywhere to fill out complete and accurate addresses from UK postcodes.

PCR Computer Services provides server maintenance, disaster recovery, infrastructure management and IT support. Based on a pay-as-you-go pricing model, the company’s services are ideal for users with an immediate computer emergency or a simple IT problem.

Cohen, now 20, says the product which he has used for over a year helps PCR Computer Services to improve customer service levels and avoid wasting time trying to find erroneous addresses.

“I started the business when I was a teenager, fixing computers from my bedroom at evenings and weekends, and was nominated for a Sunday Mail Young Scot Award. It was very difficult juggling my studies with running a business!

“The company provides a valuable and unique service for a wide range of computer users without access to in-house IT support desks. Our whole ethos is based on building up relationships with customers so we can enjoy a positive and successful rapport for years to come.

“As we are committed to a critical response time of 4 hours, it’s essential we capture accurate data to make sure we get to the right address without delay. It means that we are able to populate our CRM with up-to-date data, important for us as an IT company.

"Wasting time trying to find addresses that may be inaccurate is not a good use of technician time or fuel.  Postcode Anywhere has dramatically reduced the time taken to gather accurate customer information.”

Postcode Anywhere’s MD Guy Mucklow said: “ Vibrant businesses such as PCR, which support the local economy and make use of technology to sustain growth, are vital to the future of the UK.”
