While Semiconductor Equipment & Materials International is the semiconductor heavyweight, others associations are making an appearance and attracting members. The California based Fab Owners Association (FOA), an association of semiconductor / MEMS manufacturing executives and suppliers, has announced the addition of it newest device-maker members. These include:

  •  Infineon Technologies, which offers semiconductors and system solutions for automotive, industrial electronics, chip card and security, as well as applications in communications - Maxim Integrated Products, who provides analog and mixed-signal engineering solutions.
  • SVTC Technologies, which provides access to an 8-inch process development foundry and commercialization services - Anadigacs, providing manufacturing of advanced GaAs RFICs.
  • And the FOA also welcomed associate memberships from Capovani Brothers, Highvac Corp., Novellus Systems and Prudential Overall Supply.

"We continue to build membership value and efficiencies through manufacturing benchmark programs and by adding member-driven study groups. Our collaborative facilities, maintenance and ESH study groups exchanging best practices, saving time, money and effort across the FOA membership, and these gains will be maximised as we add new study groups this year," said L.T. Guttadauro, FOA executive director.

"Our Group Purchasing Organization is taking off and our associate membership continues to grow, seeing increasing value in affiliating with our device maker members."
