Napier ranks as the top Scotland university for graduate employability.
The recently-published guide Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the performance indicators for 2006/07, designed to provide reliable information on the nature and performance of the higher education sector in the UK sees Napier climb 10 places, from 11 to number one in Scotland, and 11th overall in the UK.
Professor Joan Stringer, principal & vice-chancellor, Napier University, said: “We are delighted that Napier is ranked number one for graduate employability in Scotland. This ranking is the result of a number of initiatives we have been undertaking to ensure that Napier graduates are highly sought after and highly employable.
“All Napier programmes are developed in conjunction with employers to ensure that our students are given the skills they will need in the workplace. This is supported by our Confident Futures programme, available to all our students to help them develop well-founded confidence and the soft skills and attitudes demanded by today’s employers. We continually revise all our study programmes to ensure that the content of these programmes aligns with the changing needs of our key industry sectors.
“We are very pleased with our employability record which has continued to increase over the past four years. It makes us very proud to be able to say that all the work we have been undertaking has been successful and that our students can be confident that Napier will give them skills relevant to the workplace.”
Earlier this year, the Guardian University Guide ranked Napier as the top modern university in Scotland and the fifth highest modern university in the UK.
