Simclar International has pledged it will make no more job cuts in its Dunfermline headquarters, despite slipping into the red in 2006. The electronics firm was forced to slash jobs as it battled overseas competition but has now vowed to maintain its remaining production units in Scotland.

Back in 2006 the family owned integrated co-manufacturing group,  acquired certain assets of the Northrop Grumman-owned Litton Interconnect Technologies Assembly Business for $28m an acquisition that  boosted
Group turnover for 2006 to around $400m.

Simclar has facilities in Glenrothes, Scotland, Springfield , Missouri and Suzhou, China . The acquisition took  the Simclar Group global payroll to over 2200 people. Interconnect Technologies Assembly Business supplies high-performance backplane interconnect solutions to major blue-chip customers in markets as diverse as network, wireline and wireless infrastructure, defence and electronic data processing.

Accounts filed at Companies House however saw the electronics group suffer a 31% fall in business to £15.4m  2006. Its European business fell by 42% to £11.3 m. And its website's only 2008 news is its launch of its TurboFabric ATCA at the Mountain View Allicance Communications Ecosystem conference in San Francisco this year.
