Top Indian students from Robert Gordon University get home celebrations

A team from the Robert Gordon University, Scotland, UK, Friday visited the RIMT–Institute of Management and Computer Technology(IMCT), Mandi Gobindgarh led by the dean of the university, Dr. Robert Newton. The university was in the campus at an event to congratulate the ten students of MBA 2005-07 batch, who secured top positions in their respectives specialist fields

Welcoming the university team, Chairman of the RIMT Group, Hukam Chand Bansal said that in  this era of globalisation, he trusted in open collaboration with foreign universities.

Dr. B.S. Bhatia, the director general, RIMT-IMCT  mentioned the various initiative have been taken in the last few years to revitalise the MBA Programme according to the changing global business practices.  He hoped that the gesture of honouring the RIMT-IMCT students by the university will strengthen the goodwill prevailing between the two institutes, which in turn will be helpful in strengthening the strategic alliance for achieving long term mutually beneficial objectives in academics.

Dr. Robert Newton, the dean of the university, said he appreciated India’s strides in today’s knowledge economy of the world, but cautioned that much remains to be done in India to sustain the tempo of development, which is possible with the help of better technical and professional education system.

He said his university is very keen about the alliance and that is why his university has decided to officially congratulate the MBA students of RIMT-IMCT who secured the first three positions in the functional areas of Marketing, Finance and HR. Later he gave away prizes to the top students of the Institute.

The students who were honoured on this occasion included Bhagat Singh, Jitesh Kumar and Vinay Kashyap ( first, second and third in Marketing respectively); Ashima Singla, Vandana Verma and Swati Goyal (first, second and third in Finance respectively) Supriya Puri, Chandni Malhotra and Sulkashna (first, second and third in HR respectively). A special award was presented to Simranjeet Kaur for excelling in communication during the course.
