Since then, Cairn’s team has grown to include two additional Agricultural Consultants, Simon Hogg and Neil Carter, who will now be permanently based at the Wooler office.
The office was officially opened by SAC chief executive and principal, Professor Bill McKelvey and Dr Stewart Gemmell, director of SAC’s Consultancy Services Division.
Speaking about the launch, Professor McKelvey said, “SAC has had a presence in England for a number of years, particularly in the potato and dairy sectors and, in recent years, we have noticed an increasing demand for our services in other parts of the UK, particularly from here in the north east. SAC will continue to provide advice and consultancy to farmers and those in the land based industries which is not only relevant and useful, but will also make a real difference to their businesses.
Dr Gemmell said, “Ian and his team have successfully grown and developed SAC’s services to the farming communities in the north east of England, and I hope that this contribution will continue for many years to come.”
