Real Time World in third round financing

Scottish game developer Realtime Worlds has raised $50m in a third round of financing led by Maverick Capital. The company previously raised nearly $33m in capital from CIM Fund and NEA. Montgomery & Co. are believed advisors on the deal.

Realtime Worlds, founded in 2002, is a software technology company based in Dundee, Scotland, with an exceptionally talented staff of 185, an additional 40 in Seoul, South Korea, and a new Colorado, USA office.  The team has a tremendous history of creating some of the world's best selling video games, including Crackdown, and the global hit franchises Lemmings, Grand Theft Auto, Mobile Forces, Crackdown and the upcoming All Points Bulletin.

Montgomery & Co. is an extremely busy dealmaker these days. They are also reported to be working with Meebo on a big new round of financing, as well as doing mergers and acquisitions work for a number of well known startups. They  represented Club Penguin in their $700m sale to Disney in August 2007
