A letter from Neil MacNeil to Compute Scotland in April, needs attention."I would just like to inform you that we are actually at the European Parliament on this issue. The Scottish Government submitted a defence of ConCom/HIE which hasn't been accepted and the European Parliament want "further clarification" on why they decided on a wireless system without doing adequate surveys or even considering alternative methods to provide broadband."

The Scotsman, Hebrides News, iPetitions, and Angus Nicolson Blog raise the issue.

"For Jim Mather (right) to state that "by targeting specific areas, you actually improve broadband access faster" when the Connected Communities Initiative actually denied our community a better broadband service FOUR YEARS AGO by excluding our exchange from the 2005 UK Government initiative is nonsense.

"There are areas here on Barra and throughout the Western Isles still without any kind of broadband service. Not what you'd expect for £12m spent.

Yours sincerely
 Neil MacNeil
